Plekt’s default port is now 5056. It was 5055. The port moved so Plekt can run alongside Seerr, which uses 5055. Nothing changes inside the container: Docker still listens on 5055 internally, so only the host port you open in the browser changes.

You can move to 5056, or keep your old port. Either works. The steps below cover each install type.

Updating an existing Plembfin instance? Start with Upgrading from Plembfin to Plekt to protect its data and settings.

Before you start

  • Take a backup in Backups and operations.
  • Note the host port your install uses today (5055 for most installs).
  • Note every webhook that points at Plekt, including Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex senders.

Docker Compose

Change the port mapping and tell Plekt which host port to expect:

services:
  plekt:
    image: plembfin/plekt:latest
    container_name: plekt
    ports:
      - "5056:5055"
    environment:
      PLEKT_PUBLISHED_PORT: "5056"

Run docker compose up -d, then open http://localhost:5056.

To keep port 5055, leave the mapping as "5055:5055" and set PLEKT_PUBLISHED_PORT to "5055".

Image names

Plekt publishes under the new image names. Your existing image keeps receiving releases for at least six months after the rebrand, so you can move when it suits you:

  • plembfin/plekt on Docker Hub, or ghcr.io/lasikiewicz/plekt on GitHub Container Registry
  • old names: plembfin/plembfin and ghcr.io/lasikiewicz/plembfin

Keep the same tag, volume, and settings when you change the image name.

Unraid

In the Plekt container template, map host port 5056 to container port 5055. Keep the container port at 5055. Open http://<unraid-ip>:5056 afterwards.

To keep the old port, leave the host port at 5055 and set PLEKT_PUBLISHED_PORT to 5055.

Windows

The Plekt installer asks which dashboard port to use during install or upgrade. Its default is 5056. Choose the port you want, then check the address in the browser after the upgrade. The private-network firewall rule follows the port you choose.

If you use a shortcut or bookmark, update it to the new address.

Node.js

Start Plekt with npm start. It listens on 5056 by default. To keep 5055, run PORT=5055 npm start (bash) or $env:PORT=5055; npm start (PowerShell).

Webhooks

Plekt cannot change the port your media servers send to. Update each sender:

  • Jellyfin: in the Webhook plugin, change the URL to port 5056.
  • Emby and Plex: change the webhook URL in their settings to port 5056.

Plekt reads PLEKT_PUBLISHED_PORT when it starts, so restart Plekt after changing that value. If you keep port 5055, set PLEKT_PUBLISHED_PORT to 5055. Check the configured sender URLs and send a test webhook after an update; the dashboard does not display a port reminder.

Checking the move

  1. Open the new address and sign in.
  2. Open Settings → Connections and confirm Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin still connect.
  3. Trigger a test webhook from one media server and confirm it appears in Sync activity.
